Felicia Ruiz Simpson

Felicia came to this area from South Texas in 2000 on a tennis scholarship to play at Virginia Intermont College where she received her B.S. in Sports Management. Felicia attributes the start of her fitness career to the YWCA where she was offered her internship as a young college student from (2002-2006). Later, she received her graduate degree from Liberty University in Health and Wellness Counseling. She is a certified personal trainer with the National Academy of Sports Medicine as well as a Health Coach (IIN), Fitness Instructor, LPN and Group Personal Trainer. For the last 14 years Felicia has spent much of her time and energy working alongside with clients to help guide them to reach their goals and to help them regain their quality of life after illness or injury.

Training Philosophy: Felicia believes that the mind, body and spirit must be integrated in order to reach a well-intentioned goal and that movement is truly medicine. The body was made to move and “it’s never too late to start moving”. A person must simply find the type of movement that works best for themselves. Every body is truly unique in this way.

Felicia is looking forward to rejoining the YWCA team and is excited about what the future has to offer. She believes in the YWCA’s mission and is proud to be a part of the Bristol team once more!

When Felicia isn’t working, you can find Felicia spending time with her husband (Brad) and two dogs (Asa and Marley) and cat (Riley). In her spare time Felicia enjoys attending fitness conferences and staying on top new and upcoming fitness trends. She also enjoys a nice relaxing day in watching movies with her family.
